Localization of Radio Controlled Unintended Emitting Devices

چکیده
Localization of unintended passive emissions from radio controlled (RC) devices has a great importance due to security concerns. This paper analyzes the challenges of locating such devices in the presence of multipath fading by using angle of arrival (AoA) method for passive devices. Phased array processing, smooth multiple signal classification (Smooth MUSIC) algorithms are the methods used to determine the AoA to locate the RC device. Though AoA techniques have been in existence for localization of active devices, such methods are not applied to locating passive devices. Two eight element uniform linear antenna array (ULA) receivers are placed along x and y directions and triangulation is utilized on the AoA information to determine the location. Indoor and outdoor experiment results for AoA by using two schemes and their localization of the RC device are presented. Results indicate that, smooth MUSIC algorithm outperforms the phased array processing method in terms of location accuracy of root mean square position error less than 12 ft provided the signal to noise ratio is equal or higher than 10 dB. Keywords—Localization, angle of arrival (AoA), array signal processing, multiple signal classification, spatial smoothing, uniform linear array (ULA).

Localization of Near Field Radio Controlled Unintended Emitting Sources
Abstract—Locating Radio Controlled (RC) devices using their unintended emissions has a great interest considering security concerns. Weak nature of these emissions requires near field localization approach since it is hard to detect these signals in far field region of array. Instead of only angle estimation, near field localization also requires range estimation of the source which makes this ...

Objective(s): Controversy exists about the localization of non-palpable breast lesions. In many countries, the gold standard for the diagnosis of these lesions is needle localization due to its accuracy. This study sought to compare the ultrasoundand radio-guided occult lesion localization (ROLL) as a simple method with the conventional procedures in terms of their diagnostic power. Methods: Th...
متن کاملThin-film Encapsulation of Organic Light-Emitting Diodes Using Single and Multilayer Structures of MgF2, YF3 and ZnS
In this research, the lifetime of green organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) is studied using four passivation layers. To encapsulate the OLEDs, MgF2, YF3, composed of alternating MgF2/ZnS and YF3/ZnS layers were grown by thermal vacuum deposition. Measurements show that the device lifetime is significantly improved by using YF3 and ZnS as passivation layers. However, diodes encapsulated by Mg...
